The story...

 Karina was born in Mexico and raised in Germany to a Mexican father that was an inventor and business man, and a German mother who is a teacher, a healer and an artist.

"Jewelry making came into my life and became an integral part of it at the age of 9. During one of our fabulous summer vacations, we were traveling through Europe along the coast of  France, Spain and Portugal, when our small family of 3 women realized we were short of money.  A family meeting led us to  decide to invest all the money we had left in buying  beads, teaching ourselves how to make necklaces and sell them on the beach. We were successful enough and decided to continue traveling like this for the rest of the summer instead of just head home to Germany. 

This unique experience stayed with us forever, and was the beginning of all our individual paths as artists.

 Jewelry making  has gone with me to all the places I have lived in Mexico, Germany and the United States; through the stages of my life as a girl, woman,  mother, and beyond; it has been an anchor, a path,  and a pillar throughout my life." ~Karina 

Exploring different mediums and techniques, Karina has traveled extensively,  experienced the magnificence of nature, became one with the ocean and found inspiration in her dreams. This evolved and turned her into an avid collector of stones and beads both new and old, which have become the core of her inspiration.

Ashland and the Rogue Valley have been her home since 1993, and after many years of being a full time jewelry artist, she also became a Certified Court Interpreter, and now a Galleryst. She invested in her community  and supports 45+ other artists by establishing ART on FIRST, a Gallery of beautiful things...
