Two-tone "angelwing" earrings with Agates and beach pebbles from the Oregon coast by AlmaMia Jewelry

The work...

Each piece is carefully made with love, with my own hands, paying attention to detail, beauty, functionality, durability, and workmanship.

I focus on natural stones like amber, obsidian, opals, fossils, pearls and more, as well as collectable and/or antique beads, to create wearable art.

In trying to bring out the beauty of nature and serve as a vessel to connect it to people, I try not to underestimate what stones can give us.

Sterling silver, 18k gold fill and copper are the main metals  I play with when I twist, wind, shape and pound them, making my own clasps and findings. This gives me a way to create and explore designs that can be worn in multiple different ways...

Our favorite materials for earrings and necklaces...

Leaves and Flower Petals

Leaves and Flower Petals

Handmade earrings with antique carved jade leaves with pearls and sterling silver, by AlmaMia.

This nature-inspired line of leaves and flower petal jewelry  feature antique carvings that were hand-carved sometime between the

mid-1800s and mid-1900s.

They were originally made as part of sculptures, and made by different artists. I obsessively collect these sculptures and re-purpose the individual carvings, breathing new life into these incredible miniature sculptures.

Surround yourself with nature...

Amber

Leaves and Flower Petals

Leaves and Flower Petals

Handmade arrings made with carved Mexican amber, obsidian, and sterling silver, by AlmaMia Jewelry.

Most of the amber I use is sourced from the southern region of Mexico, over 25 years ago by working with a wonderful group of families that do the mining, cutting, and carving.

This amber is available in lighter tones, clear, or with inclusions of moss, bark, and leaves, or with exquisite carvings of  flowers or leaves.

The beautiful yellow tones pick up light, and feel like you are...

wearing a little bit of sunshine...

Fossils

Leaves and Flower Petals

Obsidian

Unique pendant necklace made with a fossilized sand dollar, pearls, and a carved jade leaf. AlmaMia

It is fascinating that these creatures were alive millions of years ago, and now they still live on, gracing us with their beauty.  We were able to connect with a fossil collector who found  fossilized ammonites in France, and was willing to share his bounty. He sent us a few big clumps of dirt, wherefrom we had to pick and clean the ammonites ourselves.

We are also in love with our fossilized sea urchins, also known as sand dollars.

We carefully set the fossils in such a way, that the fossils are appreciated from both sides.

Obsidian

Beach Pebbles & Agates from the Oregon Coast

Obsidian

Unique handmade earrings with obsidian and fresh water pearls, by AlmaMia Jewelry.

Obsidian comes in many flavors, and from many regions all over the world. It is formed during volcanic activity and is a very intense and dramatic stone. We source it primarily in Mexico and the US, and use mostly rainbow obsidian,

silver-sheen obsidian, black osidian,

and mahogany obsidian.

A scenic landscape featuring mountains, a lake, and a clear blue sky.

Most of my beach pebbles and beach agates are from the Oregon coast.

They are a smooth and grounding element and a perfect complement to pearls and other bright stones.

The perfect way to carry a piece of the ocean with you...

Miniature bird sculptures in copper and silver as unique wearable art earrings, by AlmaMia Jewelry.

This medium allows us to play around with playful ideas in sterling silver and copper, adding textures, patinas, and stones, to form truly original miniature sculptures as pieces of wearable art.

Opals

Vintage, Collectible & African Trade Beads

The Convertibles

Handmade earrings with Mexican Fire Opals, pearls, and peridot in sterling silver, by AlmaMia Jewels

We ADORE opals!

We feature mostly old-stock

Mexican Fire Opals stil in the "host" stone, a softer stone called '"Cantera" stone.

These opals come from the central region of Mexico and were sourced directly from the miners more than 20  years ago.

We also play with Australian "Andamooka" opals, Australian boulder opals, Peruvian opals, African opals, Oregon opals,

and frankly, any opals we can get our hands on.

Fiery or not, Opals are truly magical!

Multi-functional jewelry...

We focus on many ways in which one thing can be more than itself. When you combine one with another, they become yet something else.

The "charming" set. Here the "charming" style bracelet, combines with an anklet, to become a necklace. B + A = N.

The "triad" set. Here, 3 different yet complimentary "rain" style necklaces combine forces, connecting to each other to form a very long chain that can be worn as a long necklace, a double necklace, a tripple necklace, 3 separate single necklaces, or even a multiple-wrap bracelet.

A serene landscape showcasing a sunset over mountains with a calm lake in the foreground.

Something new, something old, and very old...

Collectible trade beads include beauties such as:

Venetian glass beads from the 17 & 1800s, including "skunk beads", "blue chevrons", "watermelon chevrons", tree beads, milefioris, and more...

Vintage enameled butterflies, very old granite beads from the Dogon tribe of Mali, excavated in the Djene dig,

ancient Indian beads traded into Africa,

pre-columbian jade beads,

neolithic beads found in the Sahara desert, and many other treasures I decide to share from my extensive private bead collection.
